Project codes

The Project codes page (workspace admins only) controls how ddx PMO builds the short codes for your projects and clients — for example P0109-ABF-UK — so they follow one consistent house style instead of being typed by hand each time.

The code rule

The Code rule card defines the pattern. As you edit it, a live Example (built from a sample client — “Associated British Foods”, UK, number 109) shows exactly what the codes will look like.

• Auto-generate project codes — when ticked, a new project gets a code from this rule automatically. Leave it off to type codes by hand.
• Project code template — the pattern for a project code, using tokens like {type}, {seq} (the running number), {seq:4} (padded to four digits), {clientCode}, {country}, and {year}.
• Client ID template — the pattern for a client’s short code, with tokens like {name:3} (letters from the name) and {country}.
• Numbering — whether projects share one running number, have separate Internal / External streams, or a separate stream per client.
• Internal / External markers — the short letters that tag an internal vs an external project in the code.
• First number — where a brand-new counter starts.

Running numbers

The Running numbers section shows the last number each counter has handed out; the next project gets that + 1. Set a counter to your current real job number to carry on an existing sequence rather than starting from scratch. Per-client counters appear here automatically the first time each client gets a project.
